The residents had selected this tree to symbolize the need for conservation and to promote greater understanding of wildlife protection.
City Flower: the sunflower Adopted January 16. 1969
The dark green leaves of the sunflower symbolize the continuous development of the city while the large flower indicates the joint efforts of all the residents to make the city a bright, healthy place to live.
